i see people put just B1 on alot of threads...is this the mic they are talking about (behringer b1), and also is this a good mic? im new to recording at home, or just recording in general and see this mic at a good price, and was just wondering if i would like the results. im going to be using it alot for micing acoustic guitar tracks, and of course vocals also, but i do have a sennheiser 845 mic that sounds pretty good. the senn just doesnt work for micing the guitar that well at all. i guess just basically let me know if this is a pretty good mic for home recording and if you guys know of a couple more mics at a low good price that are good quality(condenser mics), drop me some names of them...thanks!

the can of worms

i just bought one....it sounds pretty good on vocals and i havent tried it on guitar yet. i can tell a big difference over my audio technica atr30. and if you cant afford anything more then i say go ahead and get it.... but alot of other people will tell you its a piece of shit and it wasnt worth the time to create it and the guy that made it has a sister who doesnt suck as much as the mic does. but anyway i like it and if you cant afford a higher priced condenser mic then get that. oh yeah i have a behringer b1 posting on the second page of postings or something in this forum so take a look there people keep talking about a b1 and then an sp b1 and I'm kinda baffled on that but mine says Single Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone B-1 as far as i can tell...theres only one B-1 and thats it, but read my thread here and you'll see everyone tear it down and check www.americanmusical.com and read everyone build it up

No. They're talking about the Studio Projects B1.

and also is this a good mic?

It's a piece of crap.

You sir are a good candidate for reading this:

Holds all of the answers you are looking for, and I guarantee that after reading this all you will know more about microphones than that pimply dork in guitar center.

martinepiphone, they're talking about the 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1... and it's a jack of all trades and master of none type mic. Check out the Marshall MXL603S for your acoustic guitar... and IMO, the B1 is NOT a great vocal mic, but some newbee's like it.
