Vox,

You should have a trademark symbol after any tune of yours.

They have that "copyright" Voxvendor sound.

When will we get something new???????

Joel

Actually. the funny thing is, that, it's the only sound I can do well..... I've tried changing and going for that open spacy sparse sound with a really up-front vocal, and It just crashes on me......

I Listened and Idolized Mutt Lange's recordings my whole life..... He definately influenced me.. Unfortunately I'm not sure I will ever be able to move away from that radio-rock-over-produced sound....

I do wish I could do different...... Iw ant to do some weird Peter Gabriel stuff... Maybe I will try that...

:(

Maybe I'll post some old stuff, when I was in my Depeche Mode synth Pop stage...:D

Oh I forgot about this....

Soon.. I have about 3 more songs to post, after I put the finishing touches on them.........

I have entered a live-phase of my musical carreer... I'm in a band, where we are performing my songs, Chris Tondreau's songs (Hes a member here, and in my band), and my bass player is Daveee, another bbs member....

Were doing a few covers too... Some Collective soul, Blink 182...

(Im the drummer)

I think were the first live band, totally composed of bbs members.. in the history of this bbs, but not sure...:D

I heard the live tune you posted a while back.
Chris Tondreau can really belt it out.

You just going 3 piece? or are you going to expand your horizons in the future. I spent many a year playing guitar in a 3 pc. setup. It really is a challenge for each musician to cover alot of ground, as well as trying to create a variety of sounds.

I miss the old days.............well.......not that much I guess!

Good Luck!

I don't know.. thats a good way to look at it, but at the same time... with only 3 musicians, we can all overplay to fill in the gaps.... It's actually real fun..

It's like we all strive to be better muscians to fill in the gaps...

I was in a 5 piece once, and Your always worried about stepping on peoples toes..

Thanks for the drum info. Look forward to more tune's from you.
Keep Rockin.............Joe Recorder:)

Listened to "Life Story.."

Good song. I like how you go straight to an acoustic out of the chorus - good effect. Nice reverb on the vocals. I liked the high guitar part (the one that's string picked). Good part.

I had a bit of trouble hearing the words. Maybe bring them up just a bit?

I Like these a lot. "In My Head" has a great chorus, and it reminds me (sort) of a tune by the Cars, when they were cool. Where did those synth sounds come from? Very cool.

Your Life Story - Liked it even better. The acoustics sound freaking GREAT. I want it to open up into some melodic, double time 4 chord bridge, so can you add that right quick?

...okay, just put one in your next offering.

I can hear the 80's references (e.g., I mentioned The Cars myself), but I'd hardly call that your 'genre.' It's not the tones you're using or the recording of them, it's your vocal style...I've never heard any of your work before these 2, but I'm betting you listened to everybody from The Tubes to The Call to The Cars (all the major "The" bands:D ). You sang both of these very well, btw. The backgrounds on In My Head have Mutt Lange written all over them. I'm impressed, but I'm also a complete idiot according to people who know what they're doing. :D

Cool,
Chris

Thanks Chris!!!

I will get on that bridge right away:D

Im a fan Of Def leppard, Bryan Adams, Depeche Mode, Blink 182...... That type of stuff...

I wouldn't single me out as a "fan", but I really do like the cars, and I own their greatest hits CD....

Just got into that recenly, so It's not really an influence.

They were from my Roland Groove Keyboard.. but have been replaced... That is an older mix up on NWR....

Now I have a piano sound going through my Pod, and it sort of sounds like a fucked up guitar.

But same basic solo....

The Piano sounds during the verses were just my Groove KB also... a distorted Lo-Fi Piano thing.

Well, I'm not Sjoko, but I'll try to be cruel to you

AWESOME drum and guitars sound

I loved the production and the song.

What instruments did you play? Did Chris played guitars?
Did you use the POD for the guitar sound?

Great, great great production and song.

Is that cruel enough?

OK. Further cruelness:

I don't like your new avatar at all. :)
