Ok guys, not exactly recording related but its been boggleing my mind, i cant find the information anywhere.

At some of the concerts iv played some of the other drummers use triggers on JUST the bass drums, They have a standard triggers like the red shot or something with a 1/4" jack, then they plug it in a small black box that then gets connected to the cable snake sending the sound to the house PA system and all.

Im pretty sure its just a 1 or 2 channel trigger module, but who makes them !?!?!? They are made just for bass drums right?, do they have like a few bass drum sounds? They are only like 5" x 5" x 1" big HELP! Im assuming they only have velocity, gain, and volume controls on em

I just wanna trigger my bass drum but i dont want a giant rack mountable module, just a small one channel unit. I know they exist iv SEEN them.....!

Please help guys, thanks in advance.

when i gig i only trigger my kick but i use the brain from my roland TD3k electronic kit plugged into a roland rt7k kick trigger. i just plug the trigger into the brain as if i were plugging in the bass drum pad from the electric kit then i d.i. the brain into the p.a. using the mono output from the brain. roland also sell a brain specifically for acoustic kits, but i can't remember what it's called. i think it costs about £200
