Hi,

I've got a 1976 Fender P bass (all original stuff) with the exception of a jazz pickup added at the bridge. I like the sound of the two pickups mixed together, but I get a terrible hum/buzz whenever the single coil jazz pickup is being used (it doesn't seem to matter how close I am to the computer monitor if the jazz pickup is on, but I can eliminate most of the other pickup's hum by moving away from the monitor).

Looking for Dynamo-Quiet,

Steve M

Thanks for the response Ray,

Apart from new pickups, got any easy, general guidelines for removing/minimizing the buzz with a noise gate? (I have one but am obviously not operating very well)

The thing about gates is that you can lose the noise in between notes if the gate is fast enough, but the noise is still there with your notes as you play, and I've found that the cumulative effect of this is noticeable.Cheers!
