I'm not sure if this the right place to ask this.
I'm trying to find a very basic digital recorder that I can use to make WAVE recordings and then transfer them to a PC and burn CD's. My plan is to run a line out of the DI outputs on my amp and straight into the recorder, using the amp to balance the levels. Will that work? In the past all I've done is use a passive mixer for my pickup and vocal mic an running it through an old tape deck (that I use as a preamp) and then into a regular mic input on my laptop. The sound qulaity isn't spectacular but it's good enough for what I need. Will my plan using the amp and a digital recorder work at least as well? Will one of the cheaper handheld type recorders be good enough or do I need something better? Thanks.
