Hi All,
I am certain that this question has arisen before but the circumstances may be slightly different.
I have a DP-02 that records fine when downloading a drum track from the laptop. If I try to record guitars, it buzzes badly.
Here are the key facts;
Can anyone shed any light?
I am certain that this question has arisen before but the circumstances may be slightly different.
I have a DP-02 that records fine when downloading a drum track from the laptop. If I try to record guitars, it buzzes badly.
Here are the key facts;
- 240v 60hz mains supply
- Buzzing on all guitars - Guitars used on a few other devices with no issue
- Guitars all record perfectly on my old Tascam 788 which I use in exactly the same conditions as the DP-02
- Laptop recordings are perfectly quiet
- Changing plug sockets does nothing
- Using XLR adapters does nothing
- A slight (very mild) tingling from the metal parts can be felt (have felt before in many other devices over the years)
- Touching the metal parts on either the guitar or the casing eliminates the buzz (a grounding issue?)
- Running the effects pedals on a PSU does nothing
- Running the guitars directly in to the recorder does nothing
Can anyone shed any light?
