Howdy, all. It's been too long since I've been out here, but it's been for a good reason -- my wife and I had our first child late spring and I've been enjoying some time with my son...

Anyway, in between the diapers, late-night feedings, etc. I've finally managed to work on some new music and and implement some of the many suggestions you guys have offered. I'd love to hear your opinion on the new tune/mix...

Sounds great! and I'm not talking about the quality but I actually like the song and your style. I don't care too much for that midi or keyboard sound that pops up once in a while but it's not too bad. I really don't feel it's right for me to be giving advice to you but here goes anyway: although you have an excellent voice I think it could do with a doubled layer on the chorus. I'd would rather here it stop abruptly after "or the lie" instead of this long fade out.

Thanks, Layne. I struggled with the chorus on this song (as I usually do with my vocals in general).

There are actually two vox in the chorus now -- one clean and one distorted (to make it a little more aggressive). I tracked a 2nd clean vocal, but my performance doesn't really lock with the main vocal so I buried it in the mix...

And I think the short ending may be something we try if/when we remix this one. This is one of the only songs where I've done a fade out and I'm not sure if I'm sold on it either...

Thanks again for the input (and great screen name, btw). Any other suggestions or thoughts out there?
