How good are the avalon pre amps? Are they worth the price.

joseph, that depends on which Avalon you're talking about and what kind of music you want to record with them. What'd you have in mind?

I record rock and metal mostly clean vocals but some yelling what would you reccomend?

Buddy, You haven't heard great till you put your guitars and basses through a NEVE or API, even kick and snare in an API is magical. Avalon would be nice for vox but maybe not for someone screaming crazy. To answer your question, yes they are worth the price but so are so many others like Great River, etrc.
