automation defect in sonar 3 ?

has there been any improvment in automatiom handling in sonar since sonar 3. lots of times it seems that you have to go to the beginning of the song to have sonar recognize automation envelope (especially in midi) and then sometimes it seems that doesn't necessarily help (i have all rev updates)
it really anoying and if the new stuff is the same (sonar 5) then i don't want it

sonar 4 has the same problem... sonar won't see the envelope unless you start playback from before the changes occur.
