Since I change my sundcard from a SB Live to Audiophile 2496 I cannot create any Audio CD using the Adaptec CD Creator program. It simply cannot scan the tracks. Please help. TIA

I agree with Son of Mixerman. I used SBlive and Audiophile. I had problems with EZ Cd creator 5. I uninstalled and downgraded to 4, it works great.

I am using CD Creator 4.5 but I am prepared to try another CD burning program if that helps.

I use (don't laugh, please) Musicmatch Jukebox for ripping, burning and playing all my CDs and MP3s. Works like a charm, not a single coaster.

I had major problems (and still have) with ECDC 5.0, and now I use it to burn data CDs.

BTW in XP you don't need to install CD bruning software. C\XP has this built in, and it does a pretty good job. the Media Player does the audio CDs. Don't fancy that so much, but it works.

The best upgrade for EZCD Creator is Nero 5.5 IMHO :)

Slackmaster 2000

I will switch to Nero Burning Rome...I mean ROM soon. But right now I think the problem is in the CD not being able to give a digital output. I have to use Media Player 7 for normal playback but then again Media Player 7 is not involved when I create music CDs. How can I activate digital output from the CD using Windows 98? Anyone?

Thanks, RonL

Have you tried talking to m-Audio about this? I remember something similar happened to someone who found difficulties in playing audio CDs when he moved to the AudioPhile, and a ready solution for the same. I don't remember if there was 98 involved here, though. I'm trying to search the m-Audio website but can't seem to find it. Nope, no luck. Might try sending them a mail.

Ron, B-4 anything try uninstalling and reinstalling easy cd creator.
Uninstall do a cold boot then reinstall, see if that helps.

I have that exact setup with no probs.

I had major problems with 5.0 and had to uninstall it and went back to 4.0. I only use it for data cd's though. I use a program called feurio for my audio. Its way more powerful than ez cd creator, supports multiple burners, cd text and what I like most is the editor that makes it so easy to drop track markers and check levels, it was recommended by a Mastering Engineer to me when I was first learning about mastering. My situation is that my main client sends me CDR's that have 30 to 45 minute long wav files that need discrete tracks and I don't like messing with the source for obvious reasons. It only 30 bucks and it the deal of the century.

SoMm

While I use EZCD 5 for most of my burning, I agree that it's buggy reputation is well deserved. I am not familair with Feurio; I have used Nero in the past, it's a nice program.

And there is no need to laugh about Music Match, it's a nice program! I don't use it for burning, but I bought it to use on my MP3 server. It was the only program I could find that did not choke on thousands of MP3 titles in the same directory.

i upgraded my nero 5.5.7 i think it was to the newest one.. it wouldn't read any of my file( 16/44.1) i went back to the version i had and it works fine...
i have a delta 1010

I found out that I could make music CDs if I play and burn on my F drive alone (that's my CD-Writer) but not from my CD-ROM to CD-Writer like before. Anyway that is a relief for me that I could still work around.

Now I certainly would like to try some of the CD Burning programs suggested by you guys. Thank you all!!
