I don't think this thread is idiot... it has something to do with marketing / publicity your music. Revealing a fresh topic about the dead of the world largest song file (mp3) sharing machine, Audiogalaxy . I start this topic to gain oppinion about it. Those idiots -"post counter seeker" you meant (...including me )- is available everywhere all over this forum. Every thread. So, blame 'em not the thread. This one really has something to say...

You can't deny that there weren't much interesting replies anymore on your thread. Btw, the file sharing stuff has been discussed a 100 times on this board. It's like starting a thread: 'What do you think about Behringer Mixers'

I have a freind who uses Morphius, and it is hit and miss as far as how great it is. When he was showing it to me he was downloading and it was taking forever just to get one track. I wasn't all that impressed.
It probably has been posted before is some other thread, but in defence of the great "Evil Empire" (Record Co's):
I read somewhere that only 1 out of 10 bands that get signed by a record company ever see any money after their initial advance. It was a stat meant to show how hard it was to succeed even with a record contract. But what it also means is that if 9 out of 10 bands don't see any money, then 9 out of 10 bands failed to sell enough CD's to pay back the record company for their initial advance. So 9 out of 10 times a record company is going to lose some amount of money when signing a band. Record companies use that 1 out of 10 bands that DO make money to help finance the 9 that don't. Copying CD's leads to less money to the record company which means higher prices at the stores to generate revenue because they are not going to operate at a loss.
I am not saying that they don't generate profits, they do and thats their right and it's actually a neccissity to help keep investors happy and to allow them to sign more bands.
Like a previous member stated, I think it would be wise for them to offer SOME tracks for free from artists, because I frequently will buy a whole album if I have heard a track or two that I like. But we can't blame them for cracking down on sites that offer up whole albums for free because the majority of people (I believe) will download it and never buy the product to support the band/label.

For they who's been allready rich...
I've heard about many artist who have already risen as a star, and don't bother by money from their album anymore, yet still make a pumpin' shakin' great music arround. Let's say Michael Jackson for example. I liked his songs. He's rich now. He even had got alot more money from what he has done before. For musician like him, making a new album/single won't make him even richer. Just for continuing his existency, and for making more fun, feel more free to talk about what he thinking through music, which also satisfiying his fans all over the world. He do it for money ?...I don't think that's what his main goal for now. It goes the same to thousands and millions succed musicians all over the world. They main goal for now perhaps to spread their wings more and more, and be more known, yet hard to be forgotten. So why don't they share their music for free ? Not as a CD's nor a cassete. But here in internet, which don't cost nothing for phisycal production. Downloadable. I swear, I never heard about "Nova & Space Music" before, untill I downloaded it, several songs and slowly become die hard fans of them, and now I've colecting their original CD's. Lol most of the bands/groups/artists don't even make shit off album sales... the greedy back-stabbing record labels get most of it, they make there big money going on tour and stuff like that, i think its gay that they did that to napster and now audiogalaxy, but then again audiogalaxy was allways gay .... KAZAA works just fine.
