I have Music Creator 2002. Cakewalk, by default, saves all of the wave files I record to the Audio Data folder on my C drive. Well, it's up to 40 GB. I deleted some old projects that have already been mixed down to a final stereo track that I've exported to a wave file, but even after doing that I don't see any change to the memory size of my audio data folder. Which tells me that even though I'm deleting the projects in Cakewalk, the actual audio is still stored on my hard drive.
QUESTION: Is there a way to configure Cakewalk to delete the corresponding wave files from your Audio Data folder when you delete the project (in Cakewalk) which they were part of?
My only other option (which I may end up doing anyway) is to invest in an external hard drive and set up Cakewalk to store audio data to it by default, which is a whole other question. I think I know how to do that, but I'm scared I'll do something to mess up the mapping information. My fear is that I'll get myself into a situation that I won't be able to fix on my own.
Thanks for any and all replies!
