I'm looking for help and tips in setting up a reasonable priced home recording studio.
I have been interested in music creation for years but I really have little knowledge on today's computer music production technology.

I am a windows 7 professional PC user, running i7 processor 32GB memory and SSD 1T main drive. my Audio interface is the NI Komplete Audio 6 Audio Interface. The DAW is Sonar X3
One of the biggest problems I'm having is with Audio break-up, cutting out that sort of thing. I have tied many things like updating drivers, lowering rates and values. So I'm desperately trying to find a solution. I was thinking of buying a Fire wire Audio and Midi interface, but will I still have the same problems.

I need help.

I'm not a Sonar user but one of the most common causes of the faults you describe is having the buffer size/latency set too low.

Even if not that, it's unlikely to be your interface which has a very good reputation--and usb should be easily able to handle its input/output.

Speaking as a firewire user, I wouldn't even think about going that route. It's very much a dying interface and getting hardware to support it is increasingly difficult.
