On 1 of my L eX us 20, the "Interpolation" red light
flickers every now and then. The thing has only 118 hrs on it (
plus I clean ALL my head's after 100) I've used Maxell,Quantegys
and formatted BASF's and at first, they only appear on BASF's
now it's appearing on my Quantegy's! Any insight!!??
 
Worn tape?

I know after a MESS 'o overdubs, takes and tracking on a single song (ie, hundreds of passes over that 4-5 minutes of tape) - I'll see some additional interpolation readings...

Also happens when I use a tape in a machine that it wasn't formatted on (except for the BASFs)...

If it happens more than just occasionally, or it happens on more than a few tapes, it points to a possible problem that needs attention....

Of course, you did create the reference tape when you first got the machine, right??? ;) If so, you can play it on the machine and if it reads errors, there's a good chance at the very least cleaning is needed -- if you celan it and it still shows interpolation, you may want to consider taking in for a checkup???

I kind of thought as much. Last nite, the light only appeared on 1 of my newer BASF tapes. I'm gonna take the thing to the doctor for a checkup!

Not that my ADATS are giving me any problems, but the cut/paste for vocals is looking quite lovely to me.

Stack a 8 part harmony, mix, e.q., add tasty morsals of verb echo, and then copy paste it copy paste it saves time

I tried waiting for HD24 but (looking up in the sky) I dont know when it's gonna drop. Yo! I'll catch up with ya later buddy

Suuppp Tim! I'm feelin' you there! I have checked with numerous
stores and I keep getting the same story! "We are still anticipating del'y in 2-3 months!" Yeah, the Mackie is lookin pretty good to me right about now also and I gotta' a lil surplus cash comin' in soon & will take a REAL, HARD LOOK at the HDR24!!!

HDR24 IS HOT...

THAT'S A HOT UNIT MAAAAAAN, THE HDR24/96
(I know you know the schematics, on-screen mixing, arranging, 20GB hardrive, that's about 90 minutes or something like that
the (UDM drives are like $9) but the M90 is $199 that holds like two albums worth, more depending how long your songs are.

Yeah I just finish speaking to my peoples trying to see how I can synch the MDR up with my BRC -- cause I gotta keep (1) adat for some old stuff/clients.

He said the SMPTE out of BRC into the MDR (1/4) and the 9 pin synch out of BRC onto my (1) adat, the out of (1) adat into my 2408 PCI card. Since the BRC is my main time MASTER now, it should be as effective and synch with CUBASE/ASIO,MMC along with the adat/MDR I hope so... (crossing fingers)
