It's Too Funky in Here!!!
Derek,

I visited the products side of the "new" Tascam.com, and saw this unit that looks like it's right up your alley. It's the AV-452, so maybe you've seen it?

The AV-452 is an A/V-switching, 5-mic mixer, powered-output amp device, rackmount. It's a little outside my main interest, but for AV purposes, looks like a pretty nice unit.

Just thought you'd like that, since you specialize in AV production.

;)

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it. Does this mean we are friends again?

Well, you're into AV, so there'ya go. I saw this piece of gear, and I thought of you.

AV gear is such a smaller niche market, but FWIW, the Tascam AV-452 seems like a worthwhile piece of gear. It has an interesting conbination of features. You could adapt it to any creative AV use, even,... and is optimized to PA, live, or canned musical presentation w/video backdrop.

You said that's your specialty, so Tascam's been thinking about you & burning the midnight oil on this one.

To me, at least the Tascam AV-452 is a mostly analog piece of gear, that's useful, forward thinking, and makes sense to me. I could think of some creative uses for it.

YMMV.
;)

For what it's worth I'm pleased proud AND impressed to see you guys actually acting civil towards one another.

You are both the bigger man.

Very inspiring.
:)

Derek,

Don't worry if ARP doesn't love you.

I always will!:D

You'll always be my Lil' Buddy!

Cheers! :)

U feel some of the old warmth returning that we all shared in that other galaxy a long time ago.

Well,....no. Not quite yet. But, it will come in time if we all get back to the job of doing what we all used to do in the other bbs, namely, helping each other and keeping the personal stuff down to a dull roar.

Cheers! :)

ps, what are you wearing right now!!....don't answer that.:p

Derek, you know I like you.

We've had many discussions. I've blown my cool more than a few times, and have hurled countless insults at you, for good reason at times. Whatever the case, we all know that flaming and flame wars, however entertaining they may be, do not forward the ultimate purpose of this board.

I'm not here to flame anyone incessantly, and honestly, however cathartic that may be to vent my frustration, it gets boring, repetitious, and it's not what most of the talking heads on this board are here for.

FWIW, I do like you, and I think you should know that, but I've been known to snap off onto someone, for what I've seen as provocation. I can only tell you I won't snap at you gratuitously, and won't react negatively unless provoked. I am a [self-professed] nice person, with a bit of a quick & sometimes nasty temper, admittedly, but I don't come here every day just to tear someone a new 'one'. That's just not me, & not why I'm here.

I had an axe to grind with you a while back, about being trite, not funny and off topic, but I've said my peace, and have gotten it all off my chest, for now & until further notice.

Derek, I've come to appreciate your posting style, by now, and have mellowed my temper a bit, about what I thought was very irritating just a couple weeks ago. Does this mean you simply wore me out, being more of a tenacious troll than I had energy to respond to? I don't know, really.

For however much you've changed your posts recently, or not, I think they just seemed to stop irritating me as much as before. I've let you have it, over & over, and now having gotten it out of my system, at least for the time being, I'm willing to let bygones be bygones.

I can't guarantee that I'll never lose my temper again, but I'll try not to. There's a lot of other members who've levelled their flame throwers at you, and that may be ongoing, TBD, but I'm stepping out of the loop on that.

The more you stay relevant and on topic, the more I like you. I've said my peace, and am not really retracting anything I said previously, but I'm moving forward with a new attitude.

In as much as we're here to share the glories of discussing Tascam, analog, and home recording,... yes, we're friends again.

Feel the love?

Peace, out.

/DA

I do appreciate your attempts to put out the flames. However much I may have irritated you I never thought that you were anything less than the most important and useful contributor to any Tascam board I ever visited. Many of my posts may have seemed to you to be off topic. condescending and boring. I think the problem all started when I said Larry Robinson's posts were more helpful than yours because yours were specific to the questions asked and Larry's were more general and helpful to those with other, similar equipment. Truth be told, I loved to chat with Larry, because his interests and background were similar to mine.

The old Tascanbbs is gone and the social dynamics established there are gone too. There is so little posting on this board about the things I care about that I am forced to enter the Cave, where some interesting threads are started, and even though I am being beaten to death in there I shall probably continue to post.

It's really great to see you two finally admit you like one another.
:)

I think I had some built up frustration that I had to bottle up on Tascambbs,...

being a "straight" technical board, with "rules" that were much more restrictive than here at HRcom. So, when my hair-trigger was tripped again here, at HRcom, I guess the floodgates were wide open.

I don't dislike LR, at all, but he's done little things to irritate me, sure, and they may not be things that were obvious, or that other bbs members would have noticed, but I noticed. I don't compare myself to LR, nor am I in any competition with him, in any way. However, you brought it up a few times, and I just layed out my honest opinions.

I don't have any axe to grind with him, you, or anyone else, but I'm human, and I'm not above losing my temper, once in a while. That's just me, either here, or there, and may Tascambbs RIP, but we still have HRcom.

Hrcom: One big, happy, freaky and slightly gay, disfunctional family.

Anyway, we need the likes of Derek Verner, to bring an outside view to this board, and likewise, we need the likes of Betty Rumble, to add a little testosterone to the board, and to bitchslap all the "midnight cowboys" and bugger-ers on this board.

Anyway, FWIW, IMO, voice-over and multimedia displays are as legitimate on this home recording board as any gothed-out, overly distorted garage band rantings. No one should take any guff on this board, just because they're not a musician, or not a "pro".

That's MO, & YMMV.;)

Well. I am just glad that if I ever have a recording question. I will no longer feel afraid to ask for your expert advice.

Ahhhhh ..... I can just feel the love in the room ... :) ;)

I love you all too! :D

Daniel

 Now that the making up is complete, can someone e-mail Larry and see if he would like to participate in this board??

I don't know if Larry would like it here.

There is no dedicated forum for building fake UFO's out of Sundae cups and fishing wire.:D

Besides any of that, he was a moderator,(honorary?) over at TASCAM and here, he would be a lowly newbie, dealing with people who would eat him for a snack in the Cave.

Here, an  Eludo:cool: Prize is getting an unspecified quantity of bullets to the back of the head!!

Come on down, Larry!:D

 Thought maybe it would be worth a try to get the Tascam Trio back together again.............

I'm a soloist and free agent.

Anyway, Mick is sick of Keith, Stills doesn't like Young, Van-Halen hates Lee-Roth, and Diana Ross dumped the Supremes.

Groups never work.;)
