Nothing really major, but my volume knob fell of fender strat, I can still place it on and it stays but it just keeps turning and that got kind of annoying so I just took the knob off and just turned whatever was underneath it but that's getting kind of annoying to so I was wondering if I should just glue the knob back on or is there some other sort of procedure I'm supposed to follow to make the knob stay?

Thanks

How about putting a screw driver in the slot on the thing sticking out to spread the knurls out a little. Careful, though, they can break off if you bend too far. Just a little bit should do it.

Is there any other way I can do it without the risk of breaking something?

A new knob will cost peanuts, try www.stewmac.com look at the gap at the bottom of the slot, is it the same all the way up? if not use the screwdriver but don't spread it more than the width of the slot at it's base. Otherwise take it in to a repairman. But unless you or someone has buggered around with it there is no reason why it should have closed in the first place.

They get knocked about all the time.

No, there is no safer way than to just spread the shaft, with a screwdriver if that is what you have handy. It is not likely to break, so just be carful. Go slow, don't just jam it in there. It's kind of like sex, you have to take your time, get her ready for yah. (knobs, shafts, what do you expect from me anyway?)

And if it breaks, then you replace the pot. They cost six bucks. Why worry?

And do NOT glue the knob on. It will cause all kinds of nightmares down the road, should you need to replace the pot.
