ASIO compatibility to come February, Saving grace for M-audio users?

no more lag, no more pops and clicks

those darn wdm drivers give more problems then bin laden!

hopefully the ASIO implementation will be a very well planned one
 
Actually it might be those with the Creative cards who will benefit the most (SBLive, Audigy).

But I'm still confused about how this is implemented. How do you tell Windows/Sonar to use ASIO drivers? Is it simply a matter of uninstalling the WDM drivers and reinstalling ASIO drivers? And what happens to other programs that use your sound card?
 
ASIO-drivers, MME-drivers and WDM-drivers (and GSIF, etc) are usually installed at the same time, so it's up to the program (or the user, of course) to decide which drivers to use...
