ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp

I am building my booth from scratch and I don't have a huge budget, I wanted to know if I should buy the ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp and if so how do connect it 2 my Laptop or should I get the m-audio Fast Track USB Computer Recording Interface. thankzzzzz!!!! 2 Its Just for recording Vocals anynody help plzzz!!!

hello.

i have an art tube mp(without the VU meter) and it serves its purpose. i don't think it adds anything spectacular to the sound of what the microphone picks up, but then again it doesn't make it sound bad. it does warm up the sound but like i said, nothing mind blowing.

as for recording to your computer, if you don't want to spend all the money for the usb interface, you can just get a 1/4' to 1/8' phono cable. or if you can't find one of those, just get a 1/8' to 1/8' cable along with a 1/8' to 1/4' adapter which you can find anywhere. plug the 1/4' side into the tube mp's 1/4' output and the 1/8' side of the cable into your computers line in port.
