Can anyone recommend some decent studio monitors for $150 or less?

I'm just getting started on my home studio and don't have much to spend right now.

Thanks.

Save and wait. You don't want to learn with crap.

Once you get to $3-400, your options really start to open up.

Honestly, and I hate giving this answer, but save up at least a tiny bit more. That really would only get you a pair of crappy 4 inch monitors which will give you little to no low end sound. KRK makes a 5" monitor called the rokit 5. They're 150 a piece but are nice little monitors. good power and a good build. I've used them and loved them until I got my beefy Events. I'd almost say buy one at a time and mix in mono til the second one comes in.

People stop being so damn cheap, and just by the gear that is actually worth a damn, $150...?
CABLES can cost that.

Don't be a douche! This is homerecording. If you save to buy all the best stuff when you're starting off, you'll never get anywhere.

I would suggest trying out all the speakers you have in your house and see if you can make a good mix with any of those.

I have the M-Audio Studiopro 3 ($100 at GC) and they work good for my home recording setup. They are a well built, low price active monitor with good all around sound, check them out and see.
