Johnny Cash was an amazing songwriter. He was a drummer of the guitar, if that makes sense.

I loved the way he performed rhythm guitar like a train. You know, if you added heavy distortion to it, it would sound like Metallica.
 
I think Kave Kong was referring to Monkey Allens songs:p (which by the way kick ass)

I like what you guys are doing a lot, and nice acoustic guitar tones on your recordings Kevin Allen!

Kevin, you got a nice selection of songs on your soundclick, I like the authentic sounds that you go for on some of those acoustic songs, like Amazing Grace and Inspiration.

"Mama Tried" sounds awesome. That just chugs along so good :)

Funny you have a Xmas song there! I tried to record an acoustic White Christmas a couple of years ago an a 4 track cassette deck. It's somewhere round here.

The singer on Folsom Prison is brilliant, so's the song you guys did. He has a deep damn voice!

Very good taste in music you have. Do you like Hank Williams? I plan on doing covers of Lost Highway and I'm So Lonesome I Could Die.

the christmas song was just something for this past years christmas and i never took it off lol...

yeah i love hank williams, and those are two songs that i LOVE that u named.


yeah i been on msn..what times are you online on there?..i noticed ur in austrailia so i may be missing ur time zone...

i cant wait to hear the song completely recorded the way ur doing it...

i like ur version better than what i had in mind...it was just something to get started with, but i love the way u do it...would be neat if we could work together and trade wav files and each add our own music...maybe send me a rhythm guitar track and a vocal track that u do, and i can add a lead track and a bass track or something...be neat adding our own styles of music together into the song.... just a crazy thought..lol

Yeah sounds good to me. We'll send wav files. What about drums? Do you have actual real drums you could use to lay down a little simple accompaniment if I record the acoustic guitar and sing it?

So, I'll get the acoustic and vocals down and you do the bass and the lead...with the drums to be announced.

True eurt, we'll have to see if she still wants to be in the recording aspect...or maybe she could do some vocals or something,whatever happens, I'm ok with it.

if possible, can u make 2 tracks, one for the rhythm guitar and one for the vocals? if so i can mix them with the tracks i add and get a good blend all the way around?...if not, that's ok...
when do u think you might can record it? leave me a spot for a lead break lol...cant wait to hear the full song....

Monkey...I would love to do some vocals or whatever.

I was online with a tech for a couple of hours tonight...trying to get my sound device up and working....no go yet. Tomorrow is another day and he will be back troubleshooting with me on this...it is really weird having someone walking around in my PC:eek:...but whatever it takes...it really sucks being down in the sound department.

I don't have to work until early evening....so hopefully I will have some sound before then. I can't wait to hear the song.
 
Ok I'm gonna try to do it this weekend...tomorrow. And Kevin, it shouldn't be a problem to have a guitar track and a vocal track. I'll write the lyrics out and try to get it done tomorrow...I'll leave you a space for a lead break!

True eurt, your PC sounds pretty bad! I hope you get your system and sound fixed ok.

i cant wait...just let me know when its done and i'll try to catch u on msn or something somehow or whatever is needed to be able to get the tracks back and forth to each other..may have to make mp3's just to transfer the files....
you also wrote a verse that i noticed wasnt in the write out u made....u decide not to add it?...i thought it would go good right before the last verse...

I just left that out because of the length. I was also gonna repeat the first 2 lines of the chorus AFTER the last 2 lines of the chorus...but all this came to almost 6 minutes! I'm kind of keen to have it AT LEAST under 4 minutes and closer to 3 if possible.

Man, my singing is gonna be like the movie everyone says is so good when true eurt hears it...you know, when everyone says how good it is and when you finally see it it's ho hum. Anyway, I'll do my best.

We could transfer wavs on msn...it would just take a lot longer. We'll see what happens

The dood who is dealing with my PC, thinks it is just a matter of changing out the hardware again and all will right itself... upgrades have been ordered..(again)...hope to have it all 'fixed' by this coming Tuesday!! :)
 
Sounds costly True...I hope he does a good job :)

It will be worth it...only cost for the hardware. The labor will be payed off by a home cooked meal:D
