Anyone tried an MXL v57?

I've seen lots of references here to MXL v67's, but I can't find anything on the V57. Has anyone here tried one? What are it's strengths and shortcomings? How does it compare to the v67?

I think the V57M is a rebadged MXL-2001, made strictly for sale by Mars music. The inards are basically the same as the 2001 and the V67G, but the V67G body design makes a big difference in the sound.

67M vs. 67G

Then I assume the 67M is a 67 made for Mars (M) also, without the gold screen (G). Do you know if there are any sonic differences between the 67M and 67G?

If the V67M looks like the V67G (except for color), it is probably the same mic, BUT I would email Brent Casey and make sure they're using the new transformer in it, and ask him if it goes thru exactly the same QC procedures as the V67G to insure consistency from unit to unit.
