You might try to get ahold of Steve Gibbs (thatupstateguy) who teamed up with a friend of his and hand built a number of Class A Champ clones. I bought the first one he had for sale. I doubt he'd let one go for $400, but if he did, you might think about snapping it up - it'd be a real sleeper amp. Not a lot of volume, but tone to put you over the edge.

So, this is where my friend got trashed.....
no wonder I guess, all the unknowns etc.
Too bad, he had a real nice amp that Andy made just before we started doing it,.....
He is not doing very well for all who are interested,..... only 44 years old, and dying,.... what a shame..... nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.... tried for several years to get him to the fest,... but,... just never got the time....
anyway,...... He had built about three amps before we started building them together,.... and this would be one of those...
cannot understand the negative pounding he got here,... it just seems so out of character for this place,... but,... things change,.... people drift apart etc etc.
Too bad Pete is a nice guy too......
Oh well, just gonna linger for a bit and see if there is any reason to come back.
