Have you ever A-B'd a crack versus a legit plug??? you'd have to be deaf not to hear the difference.....

Once again I am not in favor of using pirated software but..... If you have actually done this, and I doubt it, you would have already convinced yourself that the cracked software was somehow inferior and thereby sounds worse. The only way to do this would be a controlled double-blind type test and again, I'm sure you did not. I'm not positive on this but I don't believe that the designer of a plugin would put license verification functions into the main DSP code. Being that they want to squeeze every ounce of performance out of said code. So putting a patch into the section that does do the checking would have no affect on the sound of the plugin or whatever.

Some cracked software will crash your computer, tag your registry, add additional "programs" that you dont know about (like tracking programs that report information to who-knows-who any time the computer is connected online) and sometimes just arent stable and wont take upgrades either.
The best "crack" is to find a serial number that works.
For those of you that think a crack cant hurt you, better grow up and pay attention. Will most of them? No. But they certainly can. I'm not making shit up or passing hear-say, so hopefully no one tries to moronically say otherwise.
Radium and Oxygen and all those guys... very intelligent people with an unusual motive. Who knows what else some of them might be up to.
Its always a risk.

Personally, I think that alot of my friends that pirate tons of software are losers who just collect digital garbage and get nothing done with it. Although, I have a pirate version of a sequencer right now, I will toss it out as soon as I have enough cash for a digi002 and protools.

As far as mp3s go, It's still hard to find good quality rips that sound fine on anything other than a rat shack stereo.
