I know there are ones from the 70's. Does anyone have one, and how much did you pay and how do you like it?

I have an Epi Dot and a Les Paul Studio. Both from the 90's. Love 'em both.

No No No, I'm talking about Made in Japan copies, the ones that even use the open book headstock.

I've got an early '70's(1973, I believe) Ibanez Artist Model. Like a small scale 335. Beautiful, solid guitar. I paid like $300 for it in 1993.

Made by whom?

Ibanez?

One of my first guitars was a LP copy made by Seville (sp). El Cheapo Guitaro.

I think there was some company called like memphis or something like that that made les paul copy's.

Maybe you're thinking of Austin?

There are lots of companies that make Les Paul copies. It might help if the original poster indiciated more specifically why he was asking. Are you looking at purchasing a specific guitar? If not, why are you only interested in copies made in Japan in the 1970's?

 maybe DELTA IS WHAT YOUR THINKIN OF

I recently picked up a Samick SAT 650 which is a 335 copy. Beautiful guitar with better fit and finish than most guitars in this price range by far.

Yamaha SA 2000

Oft overlooked, beautifully crafted guitar, better electronics (coil taps via pull switches) more tone flexibility and all the playability. Better than most 'real' 335s. I'd sooner have one of these than a Gibson. Paid $800, I think.

I have a Cort 335 fitted w/ EMG pickups. Can't find much information about it on the net, though. Plays great, has through the neck construction, sounds fine. Has some QC issues with things like binding. Some of the wiring is a little funky. Fun axe, though, and a killer for $250 used w/ HSC.

Memphis was another knockoff company 20 or so years ago. Really crappy LP copies, IIRC.

I bought my 1972 335 from a friend about 7 years ago for 500.00 and I love it.

when I played that weren't there some issues of the strings hitting the frets when playing above high up on the neck?
