As an alternative, you could make the bass lines a little busier, catching many of the graces with string sputters and melodic anticipations.
Yes, I do a mean version of "Suffragette City" and "Ziggy Stardust". (not kidding either)
Thanks for the extreme compliment!

Thanks T!
I'm leaning towards an orchestral under arrangement, with perhaps a straight fiddle over the top intertwined w/ the trumpet (which if you could do ... would be great -- no pressure)?

Send an mp3 sans bass, when you finalize the changes.... via yousendit or something..... and I'd like to take a crack at it. I'll convert the file and lay a track in whatever WAV res you work with, and send it back.
I took another listen, and I'm hearing things.

Well, I pulled my trumpet out this weekend. Frankly, I suck. It'll take a couple of weeks just to get my embouchure to behave and regain some semblance of performance control.Long tone exercises, here I come.
It aint like riding a bicycle, that's for damned sure.![]()
well there ya go,,,wee project for ya!
shoulda said earlier,,,,i really enjoyed that tune you posted up.
+1 for a real trumpet though,,,,i'm not a huge fan of that sound..
also...kinda wanted to hear a sustained fade out on strings and 'trumpet' rather than staggered stops? maybe even with the strings resolving as it fades?
that might just be me though!
in fairness, those are mix comments, and you did say to leave that for a while!
other than the outro fade lasting a bit long, arrangement sounds good to me!
