It seems like people still have to wait quite a bit to get their hands on an RME HDSP Multiface. What's the deal with that card? I hear a number of people abandoning their D-1010 for the Multiface but haven't read any professional review of the Multiface. Well, I put an order on the Multiface but I could still cancel it I guess ....

So, who's ordered it and who's got it ... and what were you using before? Tell me all the gory details about it and your experience with RME (oh, and tell me why they're so popular in Europe but not in the US).

Hey yeah,

Greetings,

I was checking out the RME page the other day and was drooling over it....its expandable to more then I ever could use...

If i remember correctly, it don't have pres do it?

WAIT...(copy and paste)=

THD+N AD: -96 dB (0.0016%), DA: -91 dB (0.002%)

If i remembr correctly, these are preamp specs right? I know .002 is boasted about by companies...so the AD .0016 is even better...

Dynamic ratio analog AD: 105 dBA, DA: 112 dBA

Why would the AD be lower then the DA? Shouldn't the AD be the most crutial convertion factor??

Is it just me or does the RME site hard to read...

What is the best price around for one?

Well,
the AD and DA converters are on the same chip, AK4528, so they can't do very much about the relative specs. And besides it's pretty much irrelevant... (But there are boxes out there with a lot better specs; will you be good enougth to be worth it?)
