any programs to lower the bass?

I have a track that I need to lower the bass sound. Can anyone suggest any program(s) that would let me edit it?

I mean entirely lower it and then save it. Can you name some?

Are you saying take a song that's not yours, and lower the bass on it?

Just run the song through any DAW and mess with the EQ on the master channel and re-export it.

Yep, EQ's the answer. Audacity is a good free program. Google it.
