There's a thread at:

https://homerecording.com/bbs//showthread.php?s=&threadid=117022

where someone is asking about the MoreMe headphones that I sell. I've already posted my comments, but if any of you have tried them, I'd appreciate if you'd post your comments about them there, good, or bad.

(I'm not trying to stack the deck there, just wanna give the guy some accurate feedback about the headphones.)

If you tried the MoreMe's and didn't like them, feel free to trash them on that thread.

Hmm ... was this one-star rating really necessary? My guess is that some paranoid conspiracy theorist considers this to be spam. IT ISN'T!

I didn't think so either, since I didn't mention the URL here, nor did I ask for only positive postings about the headphones.

I own four sets of them.

100% satisfied.

My daughter's band uses them for rehearsal and tracking.

The MoreMe were purchased specifically so the infliction of "road love" doesn't make me cry. Her 1985 JCM-800 and half-stack, plus her Gibson SG Standard are now covered with buckle rash, rips and tears. All the shit that kiddies do to nice gear, just to make Dad cringe...

Harvey must have a Tardis for shipping, as it seems they arrive on my door step almost immediately after placing the order.

I'm curious as to how they compare to the Extreme Isolation phones. They look like they'd be fairly similar. I'm intrigued by them.

I could use some decent headphone extension cable. You still got any of that lying around, Harvey?

It's spam... but Harvey has given more than his share to this bbs and the least we can do for him is post the URL http://www.itrstudio.com/moreme.html
It wasn't meant as spam. The guy had a question about people's opinion of the MoreMe's and I figured more people probably bought them from my presence here than they did at the other forum.

I didn't ask people to comment on them only in a positive manner, nor did I even give the URL to encourage people to buy them. I was trying to give the person an accurate picture of what they were, and that's all. I tried to encourage negative viewpoints as well.

I originally bought these phones to solve my own problems with headphones in the studio. When I found these to be suitable and pretty cheap, I discovered I could get them REALLY cheap in large quantities, which nobody (even the importer) was stocking.

I've got enough on hand to keep my two rooms stocked for many years to come. I decided to sell them direct since nobody else carried them in any quantities and I felt that they were a good item for home studios. Same thing with the damn extension cables and mic clips. 5 bucks for a damn plastic mic holder? Gimme a break!!

Yeah, I put my own brand on them, and since the importer didn't seem to care about pushing the line, why give him free publicity? And, if they broke, I could make sure they were actually mine to begin with.

Going back into the business (except for running the studio) is not exactly a big priority in my life right now. My single purpose in doing this MoreMe shit was to give other people a place to buy some suitable studio phones for cheap, since nobody else seemed interested enough to stock the damn things.

The one month trial period, the warranty, and the two day shipping are simply my concept of what a good business should be. It's the way I want to be treated by companies.

I'll continue to recommend Sony, Beyer, Sennheiser, AKG, and Grado for serious listening.

But spamming? I really don't care if people buy these or not - I bought them originally for me. If other people find them useful, that's great. My main income is from the studio. The MoreMe sales aren't all that big, so it ain't worth the time to "spam" any group. It's a fun side business, and I feel like I'm helping people get a good deal on something useful.

I posted over here, looking for "any" comments about the phones, good or bad. I'm not trying to sell anybody here anything. No URL, no glowing self-promoting pitch, no prices, and no shills. If what's left is still considered "spam", then I apologize to the group.

Fwiw,
these are $20 and the Direct Sound Extreme Isolation headphones are $88. Personally, the Direct Sound Extreme Isolation headphones are worth ~$50 tops to me. Basically they don't isolate ambient noise that well, but are better at blocking sound pressure peaks (particularly high frequencies) better than standard earphones. If you're a drummer and want to hear slightly more high frequencies while ur playing drums, get the Metromome headphones I think they're called.

All I'm saying is, it's not a good idea to compare $20 headphones to the $~80 Direct Sound Isolation headphones. It seems to me that the More-Me headphones will not isolate as well. Also, NEVER buy based on a user review that gives a 10/10 or "5 star rating" for a product. It's simply objectively false. dejacky out!

Don't apologize, Harvey....... you hardly need to pander to the few nutjobs who're looking for a "cause" to fight whether it's justifiable or not......!

They're called "Metrophones", with a built in metronome (about $100 plus shipping). Metrophones also sells the "Studio Kans", which are similar, but without the metronome (about $80 plus shipping). We have a pair of each at the studio, and while they're uncomfortable for long sessions, they do work very well.

No, I don't think the MoreMe's will isolate as well as the $80 Direct Sound Isolation headphones. But the real question is: Will they isolate well enough to let you track a session? The answer is yes.

As far as ratings go, anything that rates a 10/10 or five star rating would hafta be very exceptional. That's why I've tried to tell potential MoreMe customers exactly what to expect, and what NOT to expect.

It ain't spam - he's not trying to sell and he's no trying to get good reviews, just honest ones.

I've not forgotten to email you Harvey, it will be in the increasingly near future!!!!!!!!

No need Harvey. Consider the source. If you put him on your ignore list like I have you won't even be tempted to respond to his inanities.

Yes, I have some of the MoreMe phones, and I'm glad I bought them.
I think the main selling points for them is that they're virtually
indestructable, they're light and not uncomfortable, and they
stay on your head. I bought them because the nice expensive
Sennheiser headphones we had bought (HD 265s), got pretty
beat up after only a few months of moderate use. The Senheisers
have straight cables that dangle around under peoples' feet,
which kept getting stepped on and yanked. The cables were
replacable, but after a few yanks the connectors on the earcups
got intermittant as well. Now were're using a couple pairs of
the Sony 7506s and a couple MoreMe.

The negatives on the MoreMe phones would be that the sound
quality is not spectacular, but I haven't heard any $20
headphones do do sound great. More importantly, they're not
harsh or fatiguing to listen to at loud volume levels, they just
sound sort of bland. Without an extension, the short cable is
hard to work with. Since we have extension cables for our
headphone distribution system, it's not really a problem.

Excellent for the price. Another vote for getting the extension cable with them if you don't have one. They're great workhorses for tracking and cheaply replaced. The earpiece covers could be attached more securely, which can be annoying, but at this price no one could complain.

if you were really worried about isolation, you'd get shure E2 earpieces for $75 with disposable foam if you have clients. NOTHING isolates better than in-ears if worn properly.

I'd disagree. I've evaluated an ungodly number of products in the last year and a half. The Extreme Isolation Headphones are arguably the very best product. I think we've given out three "very highly recommended" ratings, which is our top recommendation. And, the Extremes got the best rating because it's a great product. But, I'll admit you can't please every single person but I think yours is the first complaint I've ever heard anywhere.

My post...

"It's spam... but Harvey has given more than his share to this bbs and the least we can do for him is post the URL http://www.itrstudio.com/moreme.html"

that I posted with your URL in it was the spam that I was reffering too... lol. But now that you brought it up... in my opinion you posted spam too. But, as I said before... IMO, you have the right to do so because of all that you've given this mic bbs.

Hi ozraves,
I don't mean it as a complaint. I'm just giving my observation with the Extreme Isolation headphones. I can still clearly hear drum bleed when I use the Extreme Isolation headphones. Although they REDUCE the sound by a substantial amount, I was just expecting more "isolation." I like them for the following attributes:

very comfortable, have good construction & design, and
isolate well enough to protect your ears from damage of loud sources (particularly higher frequency peaks)

IMO, they are not good for live acoustic drum mic placement, because I hear too much drum bleed from the source instead of the recorded sound from the mics. Being able to soley/mainly hear the sound from mics during tracking was my main purpose for buying them and they simply don't perform to my expectations even though I like them for their other features. The only other higher rating dB reduction headphonoes seem to be the AKG K171(-43dB), but I've yet to try those.
My specific dissatisfaction may possibly be because the isolation I want cannot be feasibly reached in the under $150 headphone offerings and will only be solved by an IN-EAR solution. ..just my $0.02. cheers.

I have 3 sets, and for what I need them for they work great. Another friend always invites me over to help with his tracking sessions and wants me to bring them.
