im getting the shure i jus wanna know about this one for a basic backup vocal recorder.

It's a $40 cheapie dynamic....

Is it good? The question then becomes "good for what?"

I'm sure it makes a good "color" mic.....


Generally, for the many cheap products that actually put the word "professional" on the fascia, it's a good bet that they aren't...!
 
Colour... as in "colours the sound..."

Any mic or device that is used specifically to produce an obvious coloration of the sound....

Ex... I needed a really lo-fi sounding vocal, so I used that cheap Sony mic to give me that "color"....
 
Just in case no one mentioned it. Its a low end live performance vocal mic better suited for stage work than studio work. I have a similar AT mic I paid about $80 for and I should went for the SM57 instead. If your a singer doing Kari-Choke-me then it probably fine, but Don't be surprised if its boomie though...

The definition of Color= Strange characterization of undesireable sonic corruption. Often used in describing what to do with something you paid for that sounds like crap.
