I had a look around and so many types of different condenser mics below $150, brands such as Samson, Behringer etc.
Any advice which one you would recommend?

Perhaps you should open your eyes when you look around. There are other threads right beside this one discussing that very same topic.

:spank:

A career expert engineer, (Harvey Gerst) has recently started one, several in fact, right here in the mic forum that basically addresses your question.

what are you going to do with it ?
how much do you want to spend ?

MXL V88 under $120 with shockmount and case. Good reviews.
MXL V67g under $100 but without shockmount or case.
Audio Tecnica AT2020 - Approx. $100-120. Older mic but good reviews for price.

If you can up your budget they recently lowered the price on the Blue Bluebird down to $299 and it has good reviews.

Y'all are gonna be embarrassed when the OP says he wants the mic to use on his kick (even though he said condenser). Or to distant-mic a symphony.:D

So I'll say, forget the condenser and get a D112. Or a nice pair of ribbons for a Blumein config. Yeah, you need a pair to do the symphony gig. The Fatheads aren't bad. Or some small diaphragm card condensers in ORTF. Rode nt5s or SP C4s aren't bad. Make sure to buy them matched. Or a spaced omni pair. Naiants are good and very low cost.:D

What are you going to put the mic on?

True he never specified what he was to use the microphone on. Purely speculation on my part.:o Maybe he just wants to record the shuttle blast off!:D:eek:
