Another "what monitor should I get?" post.

New monitor time... active speakers in the $500 range. (This message board has an echo, echo, echo.) I don't have the money to pick up two sets and return the one that I don't want, so I neeed some help. Like everyone else, I'm doing rock and pop music.

These are the top two contenders:
KRK Rokit RP8
M-Audio BX8a

... I've been looking at these too:
Event TR8
Yorkville YSM1P


Musicians Friend has the BX8s for $300 right now. Has anyone compared the BX8 with the BX8a???

What size room do you have.... do you really want/need an 8in. woofer?
 
My room is 11.5' by 18.5', tile floor, slanted ceilings and treated for first reflections.

As far as the 8" drivers, I don't have a sub and don't forsee it in the near future. That's why I'm leaning toward the larger speakers.
