ok so I'm TRYING to start calibration.
it tells me when I'm setting the repro level to set it so the voltmeter reads +4dbm. The machine is a +4 dbm machine, even though it is unbalanced. Now I'm confused. Is the +4 that I'm supposed to set the repro level to because the machine is a +4 machine, or does it have to do with the level being reproduced on the tape. I know that for the tests I'm supposed to have a 250nw/m tape, but then wouldn't I want to set the voltmeter to +3?
So if I have a +6 tape, should I set the voltmeter to read +6 dbm? Or would I still want to set it to +4?
Thanks!
