Another dumb question...

Can I have two mics permanently plugged (w/ XLR cables) into the 2 inputs on back of my mic pre (dbx 386) and then also plug my bass or guitar into the front panel (line inputs) and not blow anything up??? Now that I've racked this thing it's virtually impossible to unplug the mics from the back everytime I want to use an instrument via the front panel. I assume once I plug into the front, that signal will just override the input in the back... correct? No worries? Thanks!

I think thats right. The 1/4 overrides the XLR input. At least it does on my Mackie board and also on my dbx compressor. You certainly wont blow anything up!
