Annoying sounds and effects w/your guitar

Hi everyone!
I want to know if any of you use (and want to share) different kinds of techniques or ways to make original sounds with an electric guitar. For example: I use a compressor and a slide on the 1st string (near the pickups) to make a seagull/beach sound (I guess it´s nothing new, but I discovered it myself). I also use my pick (Using it on its side) starting from the neck on the 6th and 7th strings w/distortion ad I move it towards the pickups to get an airplane-kind-of-sound.
¿Any ideas?
I also use the Cry Baby With my Floyd Rose on the 12th fret on the 1st string to make the guitar sound like a cat.

- take a drilling machine and lay it sideways onto the strings (van halen, poundcake)
- play harmonics on the 2nd and 3rd strings, 5th fret. push down your whammy-bar while shaking it a bit: horse.
- cat var. 2: fret a deep note at the 2nd or 3rd string, play it and slide towards the bridge (slowly) while trying to keep the pitch by pushing down the whammy-bar.

use a lot of fuzz distortion and endless repeating delay.
during the first song in your set smash the shit outta your guitar. the noise will keep repeating, the rest of your band will play back up to that, and you get to go have a drink and enjoy the show.

With a distorted tone, maybe some delay too is nice:

Finger a minor third interval between the second and first strings (fourth finger on the B string, first on the E string) pretty much anywhere along the neck. Bend the B string up a little so it's somewhere between the minor seventh and unison. Then pluck both strings suddenly together and stop them pretty quick, letting the bend slip as you do.

Also works between the G string and B string using the first and third fingers.

You can press your string to the pickup momentarily to make kind of a synth drop sound. Old news, fun with some delay.

Found a new way to make noise today: Martin D-1R. Didn't have enough left over for strings. That's cool, I'm just gonna hold till monday.

I like taking what my left is doing and duplicate it by playing the same notes an octave higher. Like if you play something that goes: open, 1st fret, 3rd fret, fourth fret on any given string, you'd tap 12, 13, 15, 16 on that same string in sync with your left hand. I believe some people call it "chiming" or "octave tapping." It sounds pretty neat though. Kinda hard to do when you're drunk sometimes if its a fast riff.

I got pissed like kristof said, but it went out of hand and I broke my recorder so I couldn´t hear what I sounded like... LOL...
Seriously... keep on posting...I love to see and hear new tricks and "non-conventional" stuff played on guitar.

I found myself micking my Marshall amp with a piezo mic (a drum trigger, I guess it´s a piezo) just placing it in my amp (open back cabinet)...it blows my head off...and the windows...and walls...huh...and my neighbors...you guitar players get the idea!

Other thing I tried was to play with a metallic ruler (used for architecture) like if it was a violin "arc". With a smooth distortion and (guess) delay it kicks ass!!!

Hendrix string bend- without sounding the strings,use the right hand to press the little E up until it is touching the B.Use ONE finger of the left hand (I use #3 or A ) to fret the touched pair and pluck them both as you bend.Famous dissonance!

Eric Johnson koto technique - fret a note with the left hand and pluck it pizzacatto style with the right hand ON THE HEADSTOCK SIDE but very close to the fretting finger as you do vibrato.Gives that thin Japanese tone.

I can get fairly convincing "whale sounds" with my bass by bending the G string (up high around the 15th fret) and using volume swells with the volume knob on the bass. The trick is to not turn the volume on until after you hit the string so the attack is not heard and the volume drops as you relax the string.

The first time or two is funny then it gets annoying...then when everyone is picking up something to throw at you you grab the E string (or even the B string if you have a 5 string) (down low 5th fret or so) and do it again...you go from whale song to whale gas. Be ready to dodge in-coming projectiles.

most were pretty conventional but 1 dude said he would only play with a metal paperclip. i had tried that before with the big size, bending it into a triangle and kind of wiping while strumming.
pretty cool metallic windshield wiper sound on acoustic or electric

You can do a lot of neat things bending notes on one string, and holding the two notes on others. Example, fingering 7 fret on the A, 7 fret on the D and 6th fret on the G. Use your pick to do the note on the A, your middle finger to play the note on the D and the next finger (index?, the one between middle and pinky). Hit all three notes at the same time but only bend the note on the 6th fret of the G (bend to the D note, or 7th fret of the G). You an start with the note bend and release as well for another effect.

A steel guitar kinda sound - Again, using pick and 2 fingers. Do a pinched harmonic on the 11th fret of the G, while simultaniously plucking a harmonic on both the 12th fret of the B, and the E (high E). Slide from the 11th do the 13th, while retaining the harmonics ringing. Works for the ending of songs, only one key though...

Hey Guys! I´m taking this "research" too seriously...I should write a book...maybe..."How to enrage your wife or parents with a guitar"...LOL
I found that if I use my slide "vertically" (using it´s circular edge on the first 3 strings) w/ some distortion, I get a cool "computer-kind" of effect, just touching a string very lightly and fast and jumping from one string to another, in any position between the mics...umh...I guess it´s hard to explain but figure it out ya smart kids!

Forget the bow use the THE VIOLIN as Nigel in Spinal Tap does with great effect.

The real trick is keeping the violin in tune....if the violin goes out of tune man that kills your moment!
