"DOGS in Outer Space"
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=392607&songID=3023746

A song about some dogs having fun in space and other planets. Features lyrics and additional vocals by DOGman himself. Also an intro, outro, and some other vocal parts by Alien DOG. Also thanks to RAMI for the Bonham drums.

This was a fun one to do, hope you guys enjoy :)

And as always any criticism/suggestions/comments about the mixing or anything are welcome. Thank you :)

What a wild spaceride...

so is it John SnakeDOG on drums? I like that raw sound! Very cool...

I really dig this one you guys!!That synth voice is great!!!Great drums and some real heavy bottom end..I love that synth "woof" :D !Snake,as I told you before I really like your style of songwriting...this was great!!!
Woof!

Thanks guys for givin' the dogs a bone!

Digital, thanks for the listen. I went for a raw Led Zeppelin in space feel. About the drums, I wish :D They're actually some drum recordings of John Bonham Rami gave me that I put together for the tune.

Axeman, woof right back at ya bud! I love that synth part too. Sounds so silly. I was trying to make a different sounding backup vocal and got a bit carried away... and that was the birth of "Alien dog" He's bossy.
Anyway, thanks, glad you like my style :) I dig yours too, always a lot of fun to listen to. That'd be cool if you joined the dogs for a collab sometime... "If dogs only (had bigger brains)" or something  .. I don't know. That'd be fun :D

HHAHA! This is too cool!!! I love it, and it's so cool to hear John Bonham playing under it all. How much cutting and snipping did you do for the drums? This is too cool. Some major Woofage!!!

Got To Love the vocoded woof. Actually I love all the alient dog parts a lot. What did you use for the vocoder effect?

Like the song changing moods all of a sudden. Couple of places I felt as if the song had stopped and another had started but then it would go back to being familiar. :)

The lyrics are hilarious. I had to read them on the page, tho. I couldn't understand the sung lyrics. Maybe turn those up a little bit? :)

I like the style of playing the guitar. It's just rolling and smooth. It works really well. And the guitar made the verses really catchy. :)

Offtopic

Sorry to be offtopic but I really like "Revenge on a Windy Autumn Day". I'm just listening to some other tracks. :) Really like the ending on it. :)

Rami,
Yeah that was great playing with Bonham. I usually try to get his drum sound, I love sounds like "When the levee breaks" Well this time I just got to start with his sound :D They had a lot of low end too, I liked that sound.....The actual track uses bits and pieces of 6 of the samples, cut into about 12 total pieces. It's not like Phillip's samples that were designed to be cut and pasted, these babies were tough to get together sometimes, but well worth it.

Sabbath,
Thanks for checking it out man! I was just messing around with some free synth plugins. Nakatira gave me this website a while ago... has a ton of stuff to mess around with voices or any instrument: http://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~thman/VST/vst-allinstr.htm

Bubba,
Thanks a lot! About the guitar work too, I'm a guitar player first and vocalist far far far far far far far far far behind. The vocals probably are loud enough, I've just heard in the past I'm hard to understand at times... I'm still working on that ;) Yeah, and thanks for checking out my other tune too. I don't know why excatly, but the ending to that song is one of very favorites to play.

Alrighty guys, thanks again :) for now.. I need water and give me a bone now! Woof!

heya DOGS

Thats nice. Ive got those BONZO tracks too, for anyone who wants them they are to be found at

http://www.saladrecords.com/bonhamfiles.htm

Some great playing, especially on tracks 9 and 19.

I had a mess around one day using file no4, I did a tempo map for it, and it really surprised me how much the tempo varied, it was up to +-6bpm in some places, and yet the man still sounds tight as anything I've ever heard.

They are a bastard to mix, those files. they have so much amibience and power they end up taking over the mix, and they are super compressed as well. Still nice to be able to hear BONZO at his best

Hey thanks ;)

Yeah I love the playing, wild and powerful! I used a total of 11 pieces from number 10, 9, 15, 16, 11, 12

Just poppin in, listeing to this track.
Very cool guys, nice arranment on the vox...
the robo voice kills :D

only advice I can give is to maybe get the guitar and bass a bit tighter, but thats just a suggestion.

The tracks sits very well in my ears...

so once again good work guys. :)

Hey thanks a lot Nak, it's good you pop in here now and then even during the wiiiiild Phillipines times ;)

I'm getting the feeling that robo/alien dog is going to make an encore sometime soon! He's probably a better singer than me :p But hey, I'll think about tightening it a bit. I'm assuming the bass is the culprit. That bass is very jammy in several places. Thanks again man!

I still want to work on the vocals too. They were sitting okay with me on my headphones and home stereo system, but then I burned it on CD and gave it a listen in the truck (a better system) and something sounds wrong. I haven't quite placed it, anyone notice anything about the vocals? RAMI, I was comparing my track to your vocal track from those tracks you sent me and I noticed you have no frequency below 500Hz, did you use a highpass filter or something to do that? Is that a good thing to do with vox or anything else? I'm getting some odd sounds on that car system, with instrumentals too

No, I don't use a high pass filter. Weird, the tracks you have are un-eq'd and when i do my vocal tracks, I don't eq on the way in. Maybe my throat has nothing under 500hz!!!!

fun jam to listen to man. The part at the end with Alien Dog cracked me up, wasn't expecting that.

Radiohead, thanks man! I was going for all out fun in Snake Studios with that one :D so that's cool it ended up sounding that way. And yes, Alien Dog will definitely make an encore performance someday... MAYBE when you're least expecting it!!

Rami, you're mysterious man. I used the EQ highpass setting to cut EVERYTHING below 500Hz and still got more frequency there than your vocals. Weird. AND even weirder is that if I cut those frequencies my vocals sound very thin. Unlike yours, Mr. Mysterious. Anyway, I don't know what the deal is yet, I haven't gotten a chance to mess around with it again, so no new news or update yet... soon i hope :)
