Hates Raymond
I recently discovered this plug-in, and while it is very simple I absolutely love it.
Inserted on a stereo track, it gives you independant panning and gain controls for each side.
(Some DAW software may do this anyway, but Sonar doesn't ;) )

A good example of my usage is when recording two mics on a guitar....I can record onto a stereo track to keep things simpler, yet I have independant control over each mic. I dig that. You could also reverse a stereo image or narrow one, or automate it, or all kinds of nifty stuff.

Anyway, hope this is as handy for somebody else as it is for me.

It is a DirectX plug-in by the way ;)

That's weird, I was only last night discussing with a drummer last night about the drums I recorded for him were perhaps a little bit too wide. I was considering splitting the stereo wav in soundgforge and then re-importing them into Sonar onto separate mono track to allow me to bring it in a bit.

But this plugin will enable me to do it without messing around outside of Sonar.

Thanks dood :D

Word

.....................

Word:

A versatile declaration, originating (more or less) in hip-hop culture.

"Word" has no single meaning, but is used to convey a casual sense of affirmation, acknowledgement, agreement, or to indicate that something has impressed you favorably.

Its usage among young blacks has been parodied ad nauseam among clueless suburban whites. (that would be me ;) )

"Come on, man, we're going to the store."
"Word."

"Hey man I got a new ride"
"Word?"
"Word."

Not to be confused with the software....

Oh...OK...I gotcha...I was thinking John Travolta and that "Grease" is THE word. That was the last time I got the update on which word was THE word.

It's been a while but I'm back on track now...thanks for the update.

Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word I'm thinkin of
And the only word is love

It's so fine
It's sunshine
Say the word - love

I stand educated... yet again, only proving that you do indeed learn something every day

I know the stereo busses in Acid and Vegas let you adjust each channel's volume independantly.

It used to be "Word Up", until everybody got really sick of the Cameo tune, and it was shortened to "Word". Unsurprisingly, this confused white people, leading to Vanilla Ice's catchphrase "Word To Your Mother".

Sometime later this year, it will be further truncated to "Wuh", making possible this hip-hop conversation:

"Wassup bruh?"

"Uh Uh!"

"Wuh!"

"Whaaaa?!"

the Cameo tune

ah yes... the gentleman with the big red codpiece... I remember cameo and their Word Up toon :D

Well, I've been using this plugin on three tracks I recently recorded and works just fine so thanks again to MH28;)

I liked the cover by GUN...another half decent Scottish export

Thanks for hte plugin. Really handy, because complete lateral control of stereo tracks is my favorite place to play around.
