I am looking for a good pair of speakers to monitor with and double as my main entertainment home speakers for listening to music etc. Can anyone recommend any?

I actually prefer high-quality hi-fi speakers (for mixing) over studio monitors (for probably obvious reasons)... Maybe start your search in that direction instead.
If the room is relatively accurate, and the speakers are up to the task, many find it a much easier and better way to work.

Sounds like a good idea to me... I've been wanting to build some speakers from these people for awhile... I've heard good things about the Dayton Loudspeakers (not to mention that they're made in my home city)....Having Massive suggest this may actually push me into it... Hmm...
