Yep...if you want the tractor of multitrack recorders, here ya go.

'Tis a strange thing...looks like the one in Washington was not purchased for upgrade to 16 tracks as it lacks the overbridge...hm...I might actually know the seller of that unit.

Advantage of not having the overbridge? No fears of low clearances on the highway when bringing it home. :laughings:

Thanks! Now I'm going to have "killing me softly" stuck in my head all night. :D

But seriously now I want to hear it. I'll have to Youtube it. Haven't heard it in years. That song was supposedly written about Don McLean.

I'm listening to it now. It's a great sounding recording. Nice reverb.

What's the deal with all of these recorders coming up for sale in Oly?

It's almost as if someone's trying to call me back home..... :)

Yes...I heard that is EXACTLY what was going on...time to prepare your cat for another trip...:D

Hey Everybody, Does anybody have any experience with the Ampex MM1000 2" 16 track. I have had it since the eighties. It was running well three years ago but lately it seem sto lack power. It still rewinds, fast forwards and plays but loses full ac power and slows down after about 3 or 4 seconds. Anybody have any ideas? Ben
