Amp to PC through stereo? HELP!

I have a Behringer Ultraacoustic acx 1000 amp which has two stereo outputs (RCA Jacks) in the back. So, if I were to get a card with stereo inputs installed in my pc, could i record straight from my amp? yes, that would work, but you will get a much better sound if you just mic the amp. If it acoustic, get some condensor mics, and if it is distorted, grab a shure sm-57 mic. Also make sure you either get a small yamaha mixer or a preamp for your mics. You can run the amp directly into something like the audiophile 2496 by m-audio, but you will need a software program, like n-tracks, available at www.fasoft.com .

Yeah you cand run direct out of your amp........... or you can mic it.... I don't know what your set up is or what you are trying to do but don't just buy any card. Guess someone posted while i was typing....lol, another program you could look at beside n-trak is Home Studio by Cakewalk http://www.cakewalk.com/ not very expensive..... not 45 dollars either as is n-trak..... but it is a great program....

As long as you don't run from your speaker out or headphone out to your soundcard, you should be fine (technically, you could probably get away with using a headphone out, and it would sound like crap for the most part). With your line outs into your sound card you should be fine (it won't be the most quality stuff, but it won't break anything either). However, if your sound card does not have RCA inputs (the type of inputs that are usually red and white), then you'll probably need a stereo RCA to 1/8th inch adapter. Your best bet is just to get a good sound card with RCA inputs/outputs. Hope this helps!
