Amp Simulators vs. Micing an Amp

I'm going to burn my DAW later this afternoon...it's going to be tape decks and analog-only from now on.
How's that for a gear snob!

Trust me...I'll never get rid of my tube amps, even if someone suggests it.

So just for references...besides this sim VS amp pissing contest, how about telling me what else I'm not open-minded about and being a gear snob about?
It would be nice get it all out so we ain't just dancing around....and I ain't mad at ya either.
 
Okay, here's one: stop passive-aggressively insinuating that all music but your own is shit. Start with that. :)
 
Amp sims work for some of my mates, specially in the metal generee.
I've never liked it, Its a great device to have at hand in terms of sketches and so on, but I'd rather record a cheap solid stat cheap amp than use an amp sim.

Not sure what any of that has to do with you saying I am a total gear snob...but where/when have I done that?
Other than for the ongoing "song contest"...I rarely bring up my music, and I generally comment positively about other people's stuff, including styles I don't usually listen to.
I gave everyone a favorable comment in their song contest threads (including yours)...I didn't really have to say anything.

That's pretty funny coming from you, Greg....someone one who often rejects the music of others in a rather blunt sort of way, and then chalks it up to just being "truthful"... :)

I have no problem with people attacking my opinions. Heck, if I did, do you think I would bother sticking around in threads and responding? No...I would put my tail between my legs and run for cover.

I got no problems with not being everyone's favorite poster boy or not having people always agree with me, but when some folks stand there and argue points back at me...does that make them also dumb and hardheaded? ;)

Are you saying I should be the one to give in to their perspectives in order not to come off as hardheaded?
I never seen you do that...and you know, you are right, we're not that different. :)
 
I'm not suggesting you do anything but accept your role as forum heel, and you seem to be doing just that. I'm happy for you. I'm always more appreciative and respctful of those that stay true to themselves and not pander. I had you pegged all along and I'm glad to see you embrace it.

Have you noticed though that Miro is damn near exactly like Ghost? The're both pretty goofy and docile until you target them, and then they become full-bore retarded. :D
