Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. Oddly enough, in over a decade of playing, using misc. amps, etc. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. I'll pick up a line conditioner or something similar in the next day or so and see if that takes care of it. Thanks again!

jaykeMURD, I see you're from Ohio as well, where at?

Haha. When you say "Ohio Valley" it doesn't nessicarily mean the person lives in Ohio. It's a referance to the Ohio River and the states it runs through. I live in Kentucky!

-Thought I'd save you the trouble of embarrasing yourself! ;)

It'll take more than a Kentuckian to embarass me. Though I will admit that I overlooked the "Valley" part, but still would have assumed you were from a decent state. ;)

P.S. Bring me some cigarettes :D

Ill disagree with everyone else here.. its most likely not the power in your house, and a power conditioner will probably not solve the problem.. it will however, create a small problem in your wallet.

Most likely the pre-amp tubes.. have someone look at them.. replace them.. rebias.. have htem check all solders as well...

I've got a line conditioner to check it with, I just lack the time to move some gear around. If that doesn't work I was planning on taking it to a local shop to see if they could give some advice, thanks for the post!

Is it hum (bass noise) or buzz (higher noise)? At any rate, go to Home Depot or Radio Shack and buy a ground checker for the outlet. Little device that plugs in, three little light bulbs describe whether it's wired correctly or incorrectly.

I had the same problem recently when moving amps to a different socket. Turned out that the socket wasn't grounded properly. Used a different outlet and the noise went away.

I really couldn't say either way about the noise, I do have a soundclip of it though on my soundclick page. Link is in previous post or in my sig. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check into that too.
