I second the SATA (serial ATA) HD, faster disc writing/installing

with SATA do I need anything special like cable or something?

I changed to a GeForce FX5200 64MB AGP dual monitor card and a Western Digital 7200 SATA harddrive.

If your motherboard supports SATA, it should come with the necessary cables.

You may want to look at an ATI video card - it's been my experience that nVidia's multimonitor implementation kinda blows...or at least just doesn't behave like I think it should. Matrox works good, but their cards are pretty damn slow for gaming and 3D.

[edit]
Regardless of which video card you get, make sure the DVI output (I'm assuming the 2nd output is DVI), is not DVI-D, unless you're hooking up to a DVI device.

SATA uses it's own type of cable. Like mentioned above, if your motherboard comes with SATA, it will probably have one cable with it for each port. Also, most retail boxed harddrives that are SATA will also have cables with them:) I second the notion of going with an ATI card. I actually paid $100 or less for my 256 meg ATI dual monitor card. And that was 9 months ago no less.

The second output is usually a DVI. You can get an adaptor so you can plug it into a projector. Check to see if the Video card comes with one. Some do. If the mother board does not support SATA. Then you can look for an SATA daptor card. about $50 or less.

Agreed, ATI will save you money on a vid card. Mine cost $170.00 for a triple output, 256 ATI Radian 9800 Pro. I love it!

Not if it's DVI-D, which is why I mentioned it. Only DVI-I and DVI-A can be used with an analog adapter.

So you can run three monitors at a time then? Thats what I need:D
