Hello forum,

Are these things really just 2 pieces of @#$!
I have been getting an unbelievable amount of noise out of these things. I get little HSS from the Behringer, but when I turn on that 3630, It's loud and disgusting sounding.
I might have to throw it away or something.
For further info, what frquency range would I need to edit out to get rid of some of the HSS?
Thanx!

Do you have the operating level of the Alesis unit set to the mixer's operating level?

You did not give device models either. Which Behringer console? Which Alesis compressor?

Forgetting the console, the Alesis 3630 compressor has a -10 or +4 operating level selection on it. Depending upon what output or insert you are using on the Behringer console, you may need to switch it. If the Behringer is operating at +4 and you have the Alesis set to -10, you could possibly get a lot of noise, as well as a very nasty distortion too.

I am using the Alesis 3630 and Behringer MX802A.
Before I got my MX8, I used to use the Compressor with my TASCAM 4 track, and it still made a lot of noise. When I record to computer it is really loud and anoying as well.
I will make sure that the operating level matches.
For some reason if I still come out with noise, would you suggest just bypassing the compressor and using the Dynamics processor of my editing software?
