Hello guys, i'm looking for an 8 channels adat ADDA. (the cheapers ones in the market i think, ADA8000 @ 220 USD and AI3 @ 390).
wich one?

i dont need the preamps, just adda convertors. i dont wanna waste more than 500 (if i have more money i know i go for the rme, but..)

audio card is RME Multiface, if any of u have one of these, what about compatibility?

thanks.

I have 3 of the ADA8000 that I use with my HD24. I like the units, tho they are not the best out there for sure. At 200.00 (US) they do the job. I really like the fact that the digital and analog outputs work at the same time. I will probably replace the units with Focusrite octopres at some point but it's hard to bet price of the Behringer units. I have not used the AI3 ad/da's.

I have one of the ADA8000 and its file. I also have a Digimax that is a lot nicer you can get a used one for around $500.00-$600.00

For a bit more you could also check out the Frontier Designs Tango 24. I haven't heard real great things about the AI-3 converters; but I haven't actually used them so can't say from experience.

I'm not sure of the advantage of using ADA8000's with the Alesis HD24, since the Behringer unit uses Alesis converters. At least that's what I've read. If I find a link I'll post it here.

interesting that they use the same piece parts. I guess the price break would have to be the selling point then (buy 2 ADA's for the cost of one AI-3?). And if you did need the pre's they are available (although not the top of the heap). I am by no means in love with the Berhinger units but they let me put up 24 pre's for $600.

They use the same A/D chip. I wouldn't necessarily extrapolate that all the electronics are the same. I recall from a discussion on the prodigypro forums that the Behri sends its line inputs through the preamp padded, so there seems to be a bit more to the Behri's signal path.

well i`m looking just for the adda converters, pres dont needed, so just trying to figure if exist any sound difference between both units in the adda convertors.

thanks.
