Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum, and I'm not a pro in audio recording either, just a hobbiest.

My question is how do you all rate the Alesis 3630.I've got a friend who has 2 he wants to sell. He wants to sell them both for the price of one, so I figured I'd look into it.

I am building a home studio, and just purchased a soundtracs console, and am trying to get good producing gear that will yield semi-pro results. Does the 3630 qualify?

Thanks.

He should PAY YOU to take them off his hands.......

And I don't think the 3630 even qualifies for shitty results - it's several levels below shitty!!!

Bruce......You're totally wrong. I've sucessfully used a 3630 and yielded good consistent results.....mind you I was using it as a paperweight/doorstop. I'm wondering if it'd make a good speedbump.... :D :D :D :D

Seriously, stay away from the 3630, it is cheap and nasty and won't deliver the results you want. You should either look into the RNC, or if you're on a tighter budget check out the Behringer Composers....which I'm a fan of also

Man, I got to play with one of these some day.
Are they shittier than my yamaha gc-2020?
:)

Never used the Yammie but the 3630 sucks pretty bad. The front end overloads easy and you can hear it clip. Lots of artifacts.

If the 3630 is as bad as you say, thanks for stering me away from it! I have read & heard tons about the RNC.

Is the RNC really that great?
If so, where can I get it for the best price & how much?

Thanks a ton,
Sponge Bob
