Sounds greater still!:D

Man if you get Lt.Bob and erichenryus in there,WOW!
Can I order my copy now!?;)

The guitar sound is fantastic on this.
Did you use the 4033 on vocals?
They sound really good!

Looking foward to more!

Best to you,
Pete

Damn, this is some great stuff. I totally got into the groove of this. Very nice vocal work and the mix sounds excellent on my little lo-fi system. I could really feel the thump of the bass drum and the bass sounded good. I love the guitar work on this, and the keyboard mixed low in the background really worked well for me, though I read below that you have been asked to turn it up a bit. I think either way it may work, but I just kind of like it in the background -- imho --

You did an excellent job on this!

p.s. I also wanted to thank you real quick for the comment you made on my thread. I didn't want to bump it back up to the top, but I appreciate your feedback --

Dude.. this is a great mix.. I didn't hear the first version, so I can't say how much it's improved :p but it sounds good as is.

I don't mind the drum "sound" at all.. I actually thought is "suited" the song quite well... except for the fact that the hi-hat is panned left the whole time. (And I noticed the "timing" issue at the end that Lt. Bob mentioned. :p Your kick strays a little in the last measure(s), and you have a (stray?) kick beat right before the last snare hit... I think that's what he's talking aboot.)

That's not to mention that the song itself is pretty darn good.. I'm not exactly a blues guy, but I still liked this.

Well, it looks like Lt. Bob and Erichenryus are aboard to add their expertise on this one. I can't wait! I love doing these collaborations!

TripleM--YES! I knew that the first word was toasted there. I heard it as I was getting the AIFF done, but it was too late to fix at that point. I will go back and adjust that and a few other things. Good ear!

Chessrock--Now that my laughter has been controlled, I added a testimonial to the BBTTE thread--just to let people know its true power. How many orders do we HAVE so far?

Lt. Bob--You move so fast, doing so many things, I think its me thats 40 steps behind!

Museman--On this particular song, I ended up using the ol' SM57 for the vocal. I went through a few mics and nothing sounded "rock and roll" enough for me. I figured (demented logic) that the 57 is good enough for Tom Petty, I should give it a shot. I actually really like the 57 for vocals, especially when I'm pushing it. On softer songs, a LD condenser is better, but I used to use a 57 for everything when it was all I had. Its really a great mic! I did use a pop filter.

boydrj--Thank you, and you are welcome! What makes this BBS so damn cool is that there is real sharing going on. If I don't know something, somebody else usually does. The exchange on music and the recordings is invaluable IMO. I was lost at sea on this song, and I got so much right on evaluation that it pushed it closer to where it should be. I still have new tracks coming and a final remix to do, but I would have pitched this song without the members encouragement. Homerec is really an oasis in the desert.

WATYF--I gotta check out the end there. Except for the kick, it was all quantized MIDI, so I just ASSUMED it was OK. I didn;t catch it, but Lt. Bob and a couple others did. Another thing to tweak! Thanks for the ears!

V3 waits....

Crawdad... Sounds great; the mix breathes so nicely now! I'm looking forward to the upcoming version; horns will put it over the top! Don't forget the background harmonies during the choruses!!:D ... Great job!
