Elvis,
Just listened to "Angry at Angels"...that is some top shelf stuff man! Good to know someone here is putting out music like that. Which one of the band members are you? Lead singer has a great voice. Excellent musically.......good job, can't wait to hear the rest.

er, right........

HEY SPARKY.... shine the light over here - maybe the link is in the corner somewhere.......

hmmm

The Link May not work because it has to process or something according to Mp3.com... is there anywhere else I can post it so it will be available to download now? let me know... I can't attach it because it's too big :(

bdbdbuck;

On Angry at Angels, I am the guy singing... I also did all the guitar and some of the bass on the project... did all the engineering and mixing too... glad you like it!

Velvet Elvis

Well Dan, the link came up empty! I have to agree with Scott, post on NWR so everyone interested can listen. This is your opportunity to shine man, make it count!

Velvet Elvis,
Had a chance to d/l a couple more of your songs. Here is my prediction:

You guys are gonna GO!

It's good to see so much collaborative effort between band members.....it looks like all of you share in the writing which is something that will tend to keep the band together.
Don't suppose there's a chance of getting an advanced copy of that CD.............uh, autographed maybe?
All kidding aside, I sincerely wish you luck. This has got to be an exciting time.

bd

ps, now that I think about it, I guess I wasn't kidding about the CD! :D Collectors item you know.

bdbdbuck,

Wow... thanks for the compliments... Did you have a favorite
song?

We had to pick different songs for the two compilations and it was a hard choice.... I'm sort of hardened against actually thinking any of the songs are any good since I've heard them soooo many thousands of times.

Yeah... the band did ALL (and I mean all) the work... CD design, most photography (except for band shots), all writing, playing, engineering, mixing (sent it to Chicago to be mastered).

I tell you what... if there really is sincere interest, I could "make arrangements" to sell copies once I get them at a reduced price to my friends here on the bbs.

I got the film proofs for the artwork yesterday... its gonna be cool.

Elvis,
I'm absolutely interested! Just say the word man..I'm there! As far as the tunes........right now, I'm gonna go with "Angry at Angels" but I've only heard 3 so far so I'll reserve the right to change my mind after I get the rest d/l'd.

Wow... that's funny :) You are the second person to really like Angry at Angels.

We put "Trade" on one sampler and "Blue Goodbye" on the other...

If you REALLY want to be special, I can tell you how to get a hold of the infamous 'just william' lunch box :) (You think I'm kidding... but we actually DO have lunch boxes)

Make that 3!
I really like the song. It was a little too.... umm.....effect-y, for my taste, almost....dare I say..... over-produced, but there's some damn solid musicianship going on in there. I mean, you even had an acoustic piano solo! That makes you ALRIGHT in my book!
Pretty cool!

Michael... yeah there were a few things I over did it on :) Call it too few hours to get the mixing done before it hits mastering... ear fatigue, lack of sleep... whatever other lame excuse I can use :)

The acoustic piano is ACTUALLY a Yamaha PFP digital piano :) Its an older one, and when you really pound on it (so that you don't get its lame low velocity sounds) it sounds fairly convincing as a piano.

Funny part is, when we recorded it... later that day my black face adat ATE the tape... trashed it. It worked just long enough for me to make a new backup, but the backup had errors right in that section. So bad in fact that it distorted and dropped out.

so.... once I had it in my HD24 I did a little 'editing'... copying the left side audio to the right side and offsetting the time just a little etc... and low and behold... you can't tell at all that it had a glitch there anymore :) Needless to say I LOVE the HD24 :)

(and yes... I *DO* backup my audio work... it just happened to have happened DURING the session and we never got around to retracking it).

VE,

Great music. I've only gotten half way through so far, but this is definitely one I'd like in my CD collection!! I just listened to "Falling" and loved it. "Angry At Angels" seems to be a change from all the others I've listened to stylistically, so it stands out that way (besides being a great song).

I noticed on your bio page a reference to a DeGarmo & Key concert. My life took a major turn the first time I ran across one of their albums (it was 1979 and the album was "Straight On". I never knew Christians could have long hair and play Les Pauls through Marshall stacks before that). One of their concerts was also the first real date I had with the young lady who eventually became my wife (circa 1981 for the concert).

Anyway, you guys sound great and I really hope you hit it huge.

Darryl.....

Darryl,

Thanks for listening man :) Yeah... I wound up marrying the girl I went to that concert with as well...

It was somewhere around the "Streetlight" era. (I'm not all that old)

There are a lot of different styles on the CD... its kind of funny how it worked that way... mainly its because everyone in the band has different backgrounds etc

I will definitely make the CD available to you all here once I have it back from duplication... I didn't know it would be that 'in demand'.

Velvet Elvis

The way I got it figured, you might want to get used to the demand, when this thing hits the streets you might just be surprised.
Lunch boxes huh?
I gotta say I was a little surprised to see you don't have many gigs lined up for the kickoff. What's goin on with that? Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.
Got 6 songs down so far, "Falling" is coming in pretty close to first place now, but still "Angry at Angels" is my fav.

bd

bdbdbuck...

Want the real story behind the lack of kick off?

I'm the lead guitarist and one of the singers... the first Monday of June, I broke my left ring finger (volar plate injury) during a church league softball game... I haven't been able to play again yet.

And in July, our drummer is having his second baby...

And in August, our rhythm guitar player and other singer is having surgery on a tumor in his sinus... and they tell him he won't be able to sing for 3 or 4 weeks after the surgery.

So.... we've basically had to resign to holding off until September to do the CD release etc.

In the meantime we hope we can do a lot of front end promotion... get college radios and such to start playing the tunes so that when we play the locations we can actually get some bodies in the seats.
