Hey there, everyone. I've read a good amount on this topic, and I think I have a pretty good idea what kind of responses I'm going to get, but what can I say....I'm looking to hear it directly before I part with any of my money.

Here's the deal: I'm looking to buy a low cost mixer that will enable me to mix four drum tracks down to two on my 8-track. I've only been looking at models with 4 XLR inputs, because that would obviously be the most convenient.

I've looked at models by Yamaha, Behringer and Alesis. Behringer and Yamaha can be had for is $100, while the Alesis is $150.

The specific models I've looked at:

Behringer 1202
Alesis MultiMix 8FX
Yamaha MG10/2

If it's not too much trouble, please do cast your vote.

Thanks a ton.

http://www.carvin.com/cgi-bin/Isearch.exe?PAGE=mdetail&CFG=2&P2=SM162&P1=MX Take a look at the Studio Mate. I've heard alot of good things about it. It's 8chs, but it's best to have extra channels for the future just incase. ;)

Most of the cheap Behringer mixers are...well, let's just say i have not heard any good stuff about them. Yammahas are good.

Good luck. If the studiomate isn't what your looking for, look around carvin's website. they have some good stuff.

Peace

I notice that Zeke is taking up Ed's fallen mantel of recommending great stuff that is way over budget. ;)

Anyhoo: The Yamahas seem very nice, and have gotten great reviews all over so far. I would go with those rather than a Behringer.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, it's really important that I keep cost around around $100 - $150, so the Carvin is out.

Regebro, would you be able to point me in the direction of any reviews of the Yamahas?
