"Voice editing software." I don't know what you mean by that. There's the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), which records the digital signal and where you can cut/copy/paste the track, and there are plug-ins in the DAW (eq's, compression, modulation, etc.) that shape the sound. I have yet to have seen a good DAW with plug-ins that is free. If you want to start, you can try a program called Reaper. The download is free, and if you like it, you can purchase it for I think $40. Don't be so quick to buy something. Gather lots of information before you buy.
