jamal - the kick's from the Blue Jay Small Ambient package.
Zikes - yeah, I think acapella's possible too. But I've got two other acapella tunes on the album, and this one here's the opener, so...
B.SABBATH - thanks - you know, your global snapshot comments are really useful - I'm starting to 'read' them like I read my monitors or read a meter.
powderfinger - of course! Ditch the kick at the opening! Good idea - thank you.

The delay I was talking about btw isn't a mixing effect, it's delay in terms of time and getting around to doing stuff - if I got stuff out as quickly as I would like to, it would often be less good. It's gotta sit around on the shelf like a bottle of wine sometimes.
boydrj - yeah, Fruity Loops for beats and synth stuff. Thanks for the thumbs up too!
Doug H - 'crowded', yeah, but I don't know what to do about that, except pan the b vocals a bit more and cut the bass. I'll try it.
dear Dr - thanks for the idea - I think the problem's running drums and bass against two acoustic guitars
Ghost of FM - yeah, thanks for the EQ feedback.
groucho - cheers for the feedback, I'll see to it. I heard 'Anyone for Tennis' about ten years ago once, but I forget it. It's off their first album, right? In terms of interesting music, I think Cream is just about my favorite 60s band. Cream in Britain and Hendrix in the US - the best of the lot. And yet, all I've got is Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire.
